Viime postin jälkeen on taas vierähtänyt monta kuukautta. Kesä on ollut pitkä ja aurinkoinen ja kuuma. Jopa griffoni on hakenut varjopaikkaa ja viilennystä betonirapusta. Kuumuudesta huolimatta vauhtiakin on löytynyt – ja uusi urheilulaji: Agility. Vanhempi tyttäreni (13 v.) halusi aloittaa agilityn Pepen kanssa. Mortti lähti harjoituksiin mukaan katsomaan onko siellä pelottavaa ja pystyykö se keskittymään mihinkään vieraiden koirien keskellä. Yllättäen Mortti olikin niin rohkea että liittyi saman tien mukaan kurssilaisiin! (Tämän postin agilitykuvat on ottanut nuorempi tyttäreni, 9v.)

Several months have gone since the last post. The summer has been long and sunny and hot. Even the griffons have looked for shadows and cooling against the concrete step. Despite the heat there have also been moments of speed – and we’ve even found a new sport: Agility. My older daughter (13 years old) wanted to start agility with Pepe. Mortti came with us to the practise to see if it’s a scary place or not and wether he can concentrate on anything in the middle of all the strange dogs. Surprisingly he was so brave that he joined the course too! (The agility photos in this post have been taken by my younger daughter, 9 years old.)

Vihdoinkin kova talvi on hellittänyt otteensa. Aurinko paistaa taas lämpimästi ja griffonikin tarkenee ulkona ilman villapaitaa!
Finally the hard winter has given up. The sun shines warmly again and even a griffon can be outside without a wooly sweater!

Talvella aika tuli pitkäksi kun kökötettiin vain sisällä. Mutta sitten löytyi lelu jota Pepe rakastaa – se kun antaa RUOKAA!
In the winter it was difficult to spend all the time just  squating inside. But then we found a toy that Pepe loves – after all it gives out FOOD!

Moriz ei välittänyt moisesta vekottimesta. Ihan tylsä vehje!
Moriz didn’t care for the stupid toy. A totally boring gadget!

Mutta isoveikkaa on kiva körmyyttää. Ja jos se vaan leikkii lelullaan niin siihenkin löytyy konstit: Istutaan päälle ja johan lelut unohtuu! Sitten vaan kinttuun kiinni :)
But tormenting big bro is fun. And if he just keeps playing with his toy there’s a way: Just sit on him and he’ll forget the toys right away! Then just grab his leg :)

Pihalla kävi vieraita. Moriz ei uskaltautunut mukaan mutta Pepen piti puolustaa reviiriä. Mokoma tunkeilija…
There was a visitor on the yard. Moriz was too afraid to join the party but Pepe needed to defend the territory…

Today is Pepe’s 4th birthday. Here’s his birthday pose.

Tänä vuonna ehdittiin jo eläinlääkäriinkin pari kertaa. Pepe kävi tutkituttamassa hampaansa kun oli alkanut kuolaamaan. Hammaskiven sijaan suusta löytyi suuret tulehtuneet nielurisat jotka ainakin tässä vaiheessa hoidettiin antibiooteilla.
During the start of the year we’ve already paid a couple of visits to the vet. Pepe went to get his teeth checked because he had started drooling. However, instead of tartar the vet found big, inflamed tonsils which at this point were treated with antibiotics.

Moriz vuorostaan kävi vihdoinkin hankkiutumassa eroon vatsaontelon uumenissa piilottelevasta kiveksestään. Pari tuntia kotiintulon jälkeen haava alkoikin vuotaa ja menimme saman tien takaisin… Muutama päivä myöhemmin kivespussi oli turvoksissa kuin ilmapallo ja kuumottikin vähäsen – taas lääkärille, tällä kertaa kotiin tultiin antibioottien kera. Nyt Mortti on kuitenkin taas jo elämänsä kunnossa, lukuunottamatta karvatonta vatsanahkaa. Uuno Turhapuro -paita oli kylläkin tyylikäs!
Moriz went finally in to have the hidden testicle removed. A couple of hours after returning home the would started bleeding so back we went… A few days later the scrotum got all swollen like a balloon and a bit warm too – so back to the vet, this time we came home with antibiotics. By now Moriz is all normal again, except for the hairless tummy. But the Uuno Turhapuro -shirt was really stylish!

Jouluksi pojat saivan Dog Domino -pelin josta tykkäävät kovasti, varsinkin Pepe. Tässä Pepe näyttää mallia kuinka sitä pelataan!
For Christmas the boys got a Dog Domino -game. They really like it a lot, especially Pepe. Here he shows you how to play!

Uskomatonta – viimevuotisen kinkunpaiston jälkeen vain yksi posti ja taas on joulu ohi! Aika todella kuluu nopeasti… Hyvityksenä laiskottelustani postaan nyt pienen kuvakavalkadin Pepelandian rihveleiden loppuvuodesta. (suurempiin kuviin pääsee pikkukuvaa klikkaamalla)
I can’t believe this – only one post after baking the ham last year and again the Christmas is over! The time really flies… As a compensation of my laziness I’m now posting a small photos cavalcade of the last part of Pepelandia’s rifflers’ year. (you get bigger photos by clicking the small ones)

P: “Tylsimys – mä en puhu sulle!” M: “Mitähäh – kuka puhuu?”
P: “You bore – I’m not talkin’ to ya!” M: “what?- Who’s talkin’?”

Sitten… pihalla alkoi mellastaa Siili-Spiky! Siitäkin huolimatta että Suuri Metsästäjä kavereineen haukkui sen pataluhaksi joka kerta ulos mennessään. Sitten kerran emäntä kehtasi lukita Suuren Metsästäjän kavereineen sisälle – itse meni kameran kanssa seurustelemaan Spikyn kanssa! “Täällä jossain se oli, mä kyllä haistan sen…!”
Then… Spiky the hedgehog started to riot about in the yard! Despite The Great Hunter and his friend barked the living daylights out of him every time they went outside. Then once mom had the nerve to lock The Great Hunter and his friend inside and go outside with her camera to hobnob with Spiky! “He was here somewhere, I am smelling him…!

Ja taas tuli joulu. Pepe otti kirjaimellisesti lasten uuden lauluväännöksen: “Ei itkeä saa, ei meluta saa, tonttu voi tulla tappelemaan!”
Then there was Christmas again. Pepe took literally the kids’ new contortion of a Christmas carol: “You better watch out,
you better not cry, better not pout, I’m telling you why: Santa Claus is coming to fight!”

Moriz oli sitä mieltä että lahjojen paketointi oli vain ja ainoastaan tylsää ja väsyttävää.
Moriz thought that gift wrapping was nothing but boring and tiring.

Mutta molemmat pojat tykkäsivät kovasti lampaantaljasta jonka tytöt raahasivat alakertaan. Moriz oli vain olevinaan kuin Pepen puruluu olisi ollut maailman tyhmin juttu…
But both boys really loved the sheepskin that the girls dragged downstairs. Moriz just pretended that Pepe’s chewing bone was the most boring thing in the world…

Joulu meni, vuosi vaihtui. Pepe täytti helmikuussa kolme vuotta ja kuvia tuli otettua vasta huhtikuussa!
The Christmaswent by and the new year replaced the old one. Pepe’s third birthday was in February but nobody took any pictures until in April!

Kevät meni menojaan ja muuttui kesäksi. Pepelandia ei mennyt eikä tullut vaan pysyi visusti päivittämättä. Kesäkin hurahti ohi ja äkkiä olikin syksy. Mortti täytti kaksi vuotta! Kännykameralla tuli synttärin kunniaksi otettua räpsy – kaunis tai ei mutta kertoo erinomaisesti millainen Mortti on :D
The spring turned into summer. Pepelandia didn’t come or go but remained as it was – no updates. Even the summer went by and suddenly it was autumn. Mortti became two years old! To honour his birthday I managed to take a picture with my cell phone – beautiful or not but it describes Mortti’s character perfectly :D

Taas on vierähtänyt tovi… Mutta Nooa kävi pitkästä aikaa leikkimässä. Ja toi kaksi neitokaista mukanaan! Kun vielä naapurin Ruska uskaltautui mukaan, pihalla olikin aika vilske.
It’s been a while again… But Nooa came to play for the first time in a long while. And he brought two ladies with her! When also Ruska from the neighbour was brave enough to join the gang we had a real bustle going on at the yard!

Ida on vasta ihan vauva. Pieni, söpö, uninen pentu ja masu täynnä ruokaa. Ei siinä uskaltanut isompien vauhtiin ollenkaan! Pepe ihastui kovasti tähän pieneen tyttöseen. Olisi kovasti hoitanut, mutta kun toinen meni karkuun…
Ida is just a small baby. Tiny, cute, sleepy puppy and tummy full of food. No way she dared to join the speed of the bigger ones! Pepe just loved this small girlie. He would’ve loved to take care of her, but she just kept escaping…

Stina ja Ida kerjäämässä… jotain! Ida paleli ja sai poikien hupparin lainaksi.

Sitten Pepe yritti tehdä tuttavuutta Stinan kanssa, mutta Nooa änkesi väliin…
Then Pepe tried to get closer to Stina, but Nooa froced his way between the two…

…ja antoi Pepen ymmärtää että Stina on HÄNEN.
…and made it clear to Pepe that Stina is HIS.

Hyvä on sitten… Kaksintaistelu? Ensin vähän haistellaan tilannetta…
Okay then… A duel? First some sniffing of the situation…

Hyökkäykseen! Mutta leikiksi se onneksi meni.
Charge! But luckily it turned into play.

Nuorukaisilla oli niin kova vauhti että kamera ei ehtinyt tarkentaa.
The youngster were speeding so fast that they remained out of focus.

Pepe: “Mussun mussun…”
Moriz: “Äiskä, mitä se tekee…? Onko sillä kaikki ihan hyvin…?”
Pepe: “Munch munch…”
Moriz: Mom, what’s he doing? Is he actually allright?”

Saanko esitellä: Nooa, Cavalier kingcharlesinspanieli. Nooa on Morttia pari kuukautta nuorempi ja asuu vastapäisessä talossa. Nooa tykkää tulla leikkimään Pepen ja Moriz kanssa – ja pojat tykkää kun Nooa tulee!
May I present to you: Nooa (yeah, as in Noah and the ark), Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Nooa is a couple months younger than Mortti and lives in the house across the street. Nooa likes to come and play with Pepe and Moriz – and the boys love it when Nooa comes!

Ja sitten kun leikitään niin riittää vauhtia…
And when they play there’s plenty of speed…

…ja myös vaarallisiä tilanteita :D
…as well as dangerous situations :D

Kolmikko leikkii hienosti yhdessä – tosin tänään Pepen piti vähän kertoa Nooalle kuka oikeasti on pomo. Nooa ei siitä pannut pahakseen – kohteli vain Pepeä vähän kunnioittavammin.
The threesome plays very well together. Although today Pepe needed to snarl at Nooa a bit, to show him who really is the boss. Nooa didn’t mind – just treated Pepe with some more respect.
